A2.2 — Lesson 3: Making Plans
Intro
This lesson gives you the phrases to suggest activities, accept or decline invitations, and set up a meeting time — plus your first look at Futur I, the tense Germans use (sparingly) for talking about the future.

Grammar Point: Futur I + Suggestions with Modal Verbs
Futur I = werden (conjugated) + infinitive (at the end of the clause). Used for predictions and firm future plans:

Ich werde morgen ins Kino gehen. (I will go to the cinema tomorrow) Wir werden das Wochenende zusammen verbringen. (We will spend the weekend together)
In practice, Germans often use the present tense + a time word for planned future events instead of Futur I — both are correct:
Ich gehe morgen ins Kino. (present tense, future meaning — very common) Ich werde morgen ins Kino gehen. (Futur I — more formal/emphatic)
Making suggestions with modal verbs — Sollen wir...? (Shall we...?) is the standard way to propose an activity:
Sollen wir heute Abend essen gehen? (Shall we go out to eat tonight?) Wollen wir zusammen lernen? (Do you want to study together?)
